I would like to thank the shelter so very much for the safe haven that you offered my daughter and I. It’s sad as I write this because when I came into the shelter, I didn’t know but only 2 people in all of Arizona and unfortunately, one of them was my assailant. You opened your doors to my daughter and I and made the transition for us very easy letting us progress at our own speed, yet nudging us along with your guidance and support, and I will forever be grateful to all of you for this. I was scared and I felt alone even through I had my daughter, but by being in this shelter, I have learned so much. My journey has taught me that aloneness is a natural, dynamic state, and that when we run from aloneness, we really are running from ourselves. You have taught me stability and independence and I have grown emotionally here in my stay with New Beginnings. Sincerely, An NBWC resident
