January 2010
In February 2008, myself along with my four children found ourselves homeless. I had been married for 13 years and because of personal choices he made, my husband started another life leaving me and the kids. I was only working part-time and was forced to move out. We had nowhere to go and lost practically everything we had accumulated over the years. We went from hotels to friends to New Beginnings. In February 2009, I heard about New Beginnings and worked hard to get into the program. After a year of adjustment, struggles and perseverance, I am employed full-time within the Social Services field. I have $100 in my savings and own my own car. I am continuing to work hard and save money. This last year we all worked hard and now as our last year here we are all dedicated as a family to work even harder. We all hope and pray that sometime in our life we can give back to others in need as we have been blessed with the help of others. Sincerely, An NBWC resident
