A different kind of involvement - BOARD Membership
We are always interested in speaking with community members who might be interested in serving on our board or on one of its committees. The process is initiated when you contact us. We will arrange a meeting to discuss our needs/requirements and what you believe your fit with our organization might be. If interest continues, you would then meet with board members from the Nominating subcommittee. The basic expectations of Board Members are:
1) Attendance at monthly board meetings. (We meet the third Wednesday of the month at 4pm. We expect to shift to bimonthly meetings in the coming year.) 2) Participation in at least one board committee. (Committees are: Development, Buildings and Grounds; Finance and Audit) 3) Support of the agency’s fundraising events and other public functions that feature NBWC. 4) Financial support to the best of your ability. We do not ask for a fixed dollar commitment but we do expect board members to make and/or get donations of a meaningful amount. 5) Represent the agency actively and positively in the community at large. 6) Participation in Board Retreats. |
